An encouraging story from me to anyone who needs a reminder that it will get better-
One day, not too long ago, I went and visited my best friend Emily at her new house. She had moved a few times in the last year and her family was "finally settling down at this house." While I was there, she told me she was going to take me to the most beautiful place. So off we went.
She lived near a beach and so I figured we were going to go and see the water. But what I didn't expect was how we were going to get there. First, we drove in the car. Singing at the top of our lungs the whole way, we finally stopped in a parking lot. And being the sarcastic me, I said "Wow this is so gorgeous! The most beautiful sight I have seen!" She rebutted with a punch in the arm.
Out of
the car we went. We trudged through the sand. We went over a bridge. All to
wind up in... a large pile of goose poop. She assured me, "Just wait.
Soon enough." So thru the goose poop we went (our shoes covered in the lovely substance by this
point).
Finally,
we arrived at the spot. There was a small bench and the scene was magical. The
water hit the shore and sparkled. The boats sailed by and didn't seem to notice
we were there. The waves washed up pieces of the lake and then took them back.
It was so peaceful that you didn't hear the children crying or the seagulls
calling to each other. It was the most beautiful place.
I
started chuckling as we sat there. You see, I am an English nerd so everything
in my life has to be a metaphor. I was thinking about how we had to get through
the goose poop in order to get to the view. Now doesn't that relate to life?
So as
you are having some trouble times, just remember the view on the other side. It
will be like nothing you have ever seen... if only you deal, with a little goose poop.
